Thoughtfully styled and full of personality, it blends classic period features with bright, inviting décor to create a home-from-home you’ll look forward to returning to after every coastal adventure.

Living Area

Step into the light-filled living room, where traditional Victorian character meets relaxed, modern comfort. High ceilings, deep coving and the warm tones of the statement chimney breast create a beautiful focal point. The original-style tiled fireplace adds a touch of nostalgia, and the soft leather seating offers plenty of space for everyone to stretch out.

Nautical touches, shelves stocked with books, and a few personal touches here and there give the room a homely feel. Whether you’re watching TV, playing board games or simply unwinding after a day at the harbour, this cosy space is perfect for slow mornings and peaceful evenings in.

Dining Room & Kitchen

The dining room sits at the heart of the home. With mid-century style furniture, there’s plenty of room for everyone to gather, as well as eclectic artwork and warm colours, making it a bright and cheerful space ideal for family meals or long chats over a bottle of wine.

The kitchen, tucked just beyond the dining room, is beautifully equipped for self-catering. You’ll find a full range of modern appliances, including an oven, hob, microwave, kettle and plenty of cookware, along with open shelving, wooden worktops and a large window that fills the space with natural light. It’s compact but cleverly laid out, making meal prep easy and fuss-free.

Family Bathroom:

The main bathroom has a fresh, contemporary style, featuring a full-size bath with overhead shower, WC and basin. It’s the perfect place for a long soak after coastal walks or days exploring the moors.

A separate WC just next door means no queues in the morning, especially helpful for families.

Outdoor Space

To the rear of the property, you’ll find a private, enclosed yard, a rare treat for a home so close to town. Furnished with outdoor seating, it’s ideal for enjoying breakfast al fresco, soaking up some sunshine, or letting the kids play safely while you relax. It’s also a handy spot for sandy shoes, beach gear or muddy boots after long walks.

Extending the Guest Count

While the property is set up to comfortably sleep four guests across its two main bedrooms, additional space is available. For a fixed additional rate, the top floor can be opened up to include two extra single bedrooms. This option is ideal for larger families or groups who need a little more sleeping flexibility during their stay.

Getting There

There are two main walking routes from the town centre to the property. Although the usual route takes you up Winter Terrace, please be aware this involves a steep incline.

For an easier and shorter walk, take the road to the left of Bagdale Hall and head up Spring Hill. Continue following the road until you reach Whitby Hospital, then walk straight through the car park. This brings you out onto Spring Hill Terrace. Turn left onto Falcon Terrace, and at the end of the road, turn right onto North Road. Follow the road around to the left and continue onto Grove Street, where the property is located.
