If you are interested in exploring the North Yorkshire Moors in 2022, take part in Green Space Dark Skies! This isn’t your everyday hike, embrace the Yorkshire countryside in a new way this year: in the dark.

This is a perfect chance to get out of the house for some family time. Green Space Dark Skies welcomes everyone of all ages, so bring the whole family! Even if you are familiar with the North Yorkshire Moors, Green Space Dark Skies is an amazing way to celebrate nature.

Thanks to low-impact lights, The Yorkshire Moors National Park will be lit up like you have never seen before. Green Space Dark Skies are looking for 20,000 volunteers to light up the UK’s most picturesque natural landscapes. By combining your torches and GSDS’s light show to experience a transformed Yorkshire, at dusk.

These magical events will begin at Gwynedd in North Wales and volunteers will be the first to try out this innovative technology on 19 March 2022. Other areas events will take place include the Peak District, Brecon Beacons National Park and Lagan Valley.

The date for the North Yorkshire Moors event is expected to be towards the end of this summer. This is an ideal time of year to visit Yorkshire, enjoy beaches, woodlands, and much more!

Green Space Dark Skies welcome broadcasters and photographers from up and down the country. So, don’t just watch it from your phone, come down to the Moors for an exciting evening. Green Space Dark Skies recommend bringing a low-impact light for the best viewing experience.

Green Space Dark Skies aren’t doing this alone though. Collaborating with Walk the Plank, Siemens, National Parks UK, and the University of Salford. And together, aim to celebrate beautiful landscapes across the UK.
