What to do with the Kids in Whitby?
Right on Whitby Harbour there are many amusements and arcades for you and your children to have hours of fun. Consisting of mini golf, ice cream parlours and of course so many chances to win prices. On top of having a lot of fun playing arcade games. As well as that, there are many boat trips which the whole family can go out on. Also a replica of The Endeavour, offering tours and a relaxing café experience.
In the nearby Scarborough, there is so much to do with your children. Take a look around the SEA Life Centre to see some of the local wildlife and ocean exhibits, or pop next door for an afternoon at Alpamere Water Park, for children’s play area, waterslides and heated outdoor pool. On the seafront there is Luna Land, a funfair for all the family, with many different restaurants and takeaways surrounding for a lovely lunch.
There are many different castles and ruins to explore too, the closest being in Whitby, the Whitby Abbey, as well as the nearby Bolton Castle, Skipton Castle, Rievaulx Abbey and Jervaulx Abbey, all offering different and exciting tours.
Beyond the local area are the two popular theme parks Lightwater Valley Theme Park, a place with plenty of different rides and activities, and Flamingo Land, a combination of an exciting theme park and zoo. The Big Sheep & The Little Cow and Playdale Farm Park are a nearby farm attractions with many different animal enclosures for a lovely afternoon out with the kids.

Pannett Park is a gorgeous place to escape from the crowds of Whitby Town Centre. This is the perfect place for all the family, with the Museum, Gallery and Pannett Park Playground.
The Dracula Experience
Take a walk into town and you will find the Dracula Experience paying homage to the famous terrifying love story of love and bloodlust.
Whitby Arcades
There are two arcades along the foot of the East Cliff: Funland Amusements and Pleasureland. Both are full of neon lights and prizes to be won.

The Whitby Tour Bus makes this so much easier in our beloved seaside town. View Whitby from a bird’s eye view and get familiar with our town!
Whitby Beach
Whitby boasts a gorgeous beach, which stays crowded in the summer. At the foot of the West Cliff lies Whitby Beach. The beach is about two miles walking distance from one end to the other.
The Whitby Museum
Lying within the beautiful Pannett Park is Whitby Museum, the independent Victorian museum dedicated to Whitby’s local history.
