With the weather getting warmer and warmer every week, it is time to see what’s on in Whitby this summer. Whitby is always bustling with life during the summer months due to being a seaside town. Perhaps being the most desirable place by the sea in the North East, at this time of year.

What’s on in Whitby this summer?

June

Whitby’s 60s weekends are a biannual event in which celebrates your favourite music from the 1960s. The first of 2023 is on the weekend 7th – 9th July 2023, with the other being in September. So enjoy some sixties classics by the sea!

June is certainly the month of music in 2023, with the Robin Hood’s Bay Folk Weekend happening on the same weekend. This is a charity event which embraces folk music and its many musicians.

The final music event of June is the Flipside Rock & Roll weekender celebrating 1950s Rock & Roll.

 

July

At Whitby Pavilion, is The Great Seaside Vintage Fair at Whitby Pavilion on 15th and 16th July. There are more than 50 stalls of vintage seaside novelty items and plenty of fish and chips. Not to mention that you have the beach just outside for you to really enjoy the sumhttp://www.whitbypavilion.co.uk/mers weather.

For a change of pace, why not sign up for the Whitby Rainbow Colour Run 2023? Run across the picturesque West Cliff, before being showered in powered paint. This is all done to support local Whitby charities, like Whitby Wildlife Sanctuary, WISH Foundation and Whitby RNLI.

At the end of July, you can enjoy the Whitby Beer Festival from 27th to 30th July 2023. Explore a wide range of beers from across the globe, at the Whitby Mission & Seafarers Centre in the sun.

 

August

The Whitby Traction Engine Weekend is a very popular event every year, celebrating Whitby’s industrial roots. Above all, the StuntWorld Stunt Show and Firework Display will be on Saturday. Not to mention all of the different vehicles on show, like motorcycle stunts, quad stunts, and roll-over quad stunts
 
Prepare for The Whitby Regatta for many different water activities on the 2nd – 14th August 2023. For instance, rowing, yacht racing, prize presentations and much more are offered. Celebrate Whitby’s maritime and competitive aquatic history here.
 
Whitby Folk Weekend will also be returning, celebrating traditional folk music from the British Isles. From 19th August – 26th August, there will be plenty of musicians across the town centre celebrating folk music.
